Everything starts somewhere. And I can assure you this is the very start of it. The introduction of a new character always require a deal of description and explanation. The character in question here, is Zarbon. And the question on the character here is: Who is Zarbon? And the answer, I’ll slowly give to you as we proceed with this little chapter of our little story. Dark green long hair, light blue smooth skin, well built body and considered to be an exemplar of beauty not only by those of his own race, but by many others including himself, Zarbon is a member of the monsturn race. I will give you general information on the monsturns once I am done giving a few more trivia about the character. His name is derived from the pomelo fruit { I don’t think that matters too much, but anyway… } . His height: a hundred and eighty one centimeters { or five feet and nine inches } tall. Monsturns tend to be tall. His weight: seventy one kilograms { or a hundred fifty four pounds } of well worked out muscles. He is a male and appears to be at his early twenties, going by earthling patterns.

What about the monsturns now? Truth is that they follow the same patterns appearance wise as humans { I mean… there’s no heterogeneity like: one has horns… others have five eyes… and other has three heads } ; their skin tends to vary in the tonality of blue, the hair can assume various tonalities though, that I won’t lose time mentioning. They tend to be very good looking and like mentioned before, tall. They eyes always have this gold-yellow color, what take us to their ancestors. It is said that in Planet Earth we first have dinosaurs, before they got fried by a meteor crash and the primates stopped being devoured and began evolving until we become these grown up talking apes, right? In the monsturns home planet { whose name I won’t mention for a matter of… lack of inspiration } the genealogy is a little different. Their inhabitants { extinct already; a few might have being skilled and lucky enough to escape perhaps, though that story I might leave for a next chapter } are direct descendants of dinosaurs. Well… repitilians, to be more specific. Dinosaurs mutate, mutate and mutate until they develop speech { probably called the cavesaurs generation or something of the like } , writing, society and turn into a handsome band of smooth skinned humanoid lizards.

Nothing is as it seems, though. A quote of my character says: “You know how they say that beauty is only skin deep? Right now you are only seeing the beauty” . And I am forced to agree with him. Digging in that “capsule” of charming features, something disgusting can be found buried. And that is probably what proves their connection with lizard-like ancestors. All of the monsturns { they are named that way exactly because of what I am going to tell you now } are able to undergo a transformation that changes drastically the way they look. They become a grotesque lizard-like creature, with rough scale-ish skin a bigger, almost disproportional body build, sharp teeth and… I guess nothing more is needed. It is good though, because their ki and physical force increase greatly, but the most attached to their good looks don’t really like using that form and generally do everything to not let other people see them in this form { not amongst other monsturns as well.. they know what they keep inside… literally } . Zarbon is one of these types. A few only must have seem his monster form outside old relations from his home planet. If you are still wondering the name of the damn planet: it doesn’t matter. It went boom. Again, something for another story.

Aside from the ability to become ugly, the monsturns also share other traits with lizards. They possess recognizable levels of strength, stamina and are also very agile. For that reason, they are considered to be a warrior race as all of their attributes take them in that direction. There’s another characteristic too that they share with their scaly grand-grand-grand-and-god-knows-how-many-grandpas. That one though, I will save for another story too { why would I give out all information already? I need to keep some mysteries if want to keep you turned on my character… though it will be a miracle if you’re reading up to this line… anyway… } . Now back at warrior-ism. It is a very uncommon thing to find a monsturn that doesn’t know how to fight. It’s on their cold, blue blood. I don’t know if I can stereotype an alignment like we can do to saiyans { barbaric; like destruction; blah } , but using Zarbon as an example, who is a very refine type of person { maybe because of Frieza’s influence… but who knows } , I would say that they would mostly range from neutral to evil fighters, with perhaps some do-gooder occurrences.

Funny thing about the monsturns is that for a race whose abilities are almost entirely tied to the ability to transform into something entirely different, their appearance doesn’t really change on the three stages of power they are able to unlock. Well, nothing difficult to understand as the transformational stages are merely a part of the rules of the world I am diving the character into. Anyway. As the monsturns become stronger, they eventually become able to unlock the dormant powers inside them. Doesn’t mater… you have to be really strong to be able to use your true potential to full extent. One good thing is that the monsturns have the edge in comparison to other alien races. That because they are a recognized alien race; they are born stronger than many other known races would get in their adulthood. Because of this, they are able to attain higher levels of power faster than many other alien races not sharing the same warrior characteristic would. And it is these very enhanced stages of power that allow the monsturns to reserve themselves the priviledge of not using their monster form to fight other people, because even without that, they can easily match other warriors evenly, a characteristic that was very much well appreciated by the people of the World Trade Organization that incorporated the whole race into their little business of cleaning worlds for sale. But if you actually read this all { what I find something relatively hard to happen } and became interested in Zarbon and his folk… keep tuned for new stories and I might throw in some few more details other than looks and traits…
