Life Story
Born a long twenty-six years ago, Kaosuu's life has been one massive whirlwind of emotions and actions. He was of mixed blood, not pure konat, but instead born of a monstrous race, and would forever bear the burden of it's taint, a weight upon his soul that he could never escape. For you see, Kaosuu's grandmother, heir to an artful and noble tradition of Konat warriors that were renkowned across the planet for their skill and precision, had fallen in love with a changeling. Not just any changeling, this man was a brilliant scholar, a scientist of remarkable ability in the fields of genetics and bio-mechanics. Before long, the pair would bare a daughter, and then another, both wonderful children who filled their parents hearts with joy. But when the pair reached adulthood, they sought and found mates, despite their mixed heritage. But for reasons unknown, both women died in childbirth. Kaosuu's grandfather mused at the time that it may have been that they lacked the strength for a mixed birthing, having lacked the warrior training of their mother. Personally, Kaosuu would later come to the conclusion that he had arranged for their deaths, knowing full well the heart of a mother would never surrender her child. Over the course of the next five years, Kaosuu and his cousin, Fuhen, would grow up as Konat children always did, playing with wooden swords, laughing and playing with their families, but there was always something missing. With their mother's gone, their fathers ended up moving near the grandparents, and raising the children in a single family, as brothers. Upon reaching the age of five, Kaosuu was taken into swordsmanship training, both by his father and Fuhen's, growing swiftly in talent, though it was quickly discoverred that he forsook the forms of the blade for a more wild, beastial approach, a nature no doubt inherited from his grandfather's people. After three years of training, it seemed that his cousin had masterred all the forms of the blade, and he himself had learned all that his family, and the rest of the swordsmen in the clan, their grandmother included, could teach him. Shortly after their eighth birthday, the grandmother of the boys grew sickly ill with a fever of some kind and died. Moving in swiftly on the opportunity, their grandfather pleaded with the boys fathers to allow him to take them to Icer, to train them and condition them as warriors, to take the training they received on Konat and harden their bodies and souls to the duties of a warrior. Furthermore, the move would protect the boys from the sickness that seemed to sweep Konat periodically, striking the old and the young. As any father would, Kaosuu's father accepted the offer, and bid his son farewell. Once on Icer, the old man showed his true colors, experiementing on the boys, replacing parts of their bodies with machines, turning them into freaks beyond that of their blood. Year after year the man pit the two boys against one another, Kaosuu's chaotic and random combat style often proving too much for the more refined and polished Fuhen, earning the younger's hatred, while Kaosuu himself grew to despise his cousin's weakness. Eventually, all things come to an end. At the age of twenty-six, the cousin's killed their grandfather, and set out into the icy wastes of icer, seeking employment, and a roof over their heads. |
