Useful Terms and Tips

This will be a list of the different terms and abbreviations that are used throughout The Dragonball RPG, along with what it is an abbreviation for and what it means.

RPG: Role Playing Game: For all the dummies, this means a game where you role-play a character. This means you play a character, which can either be like you or very different from you.

IC: In Character: When you role-play, you are in character. This means that your character knows what he has found out, not what you know.

OOC: Out Of Character: When you are not role-playing. Example of boards where this is used is the Ooc board and the suggestion board. You can’t use knowledge you find out OOC when role-playing.

Master: These rule the rpg. Their word is the law. They also do your updates if you ask nicely. They create the sagas and decide when it is time for main events to unfold on the rpg, like tournaments and stuff like that.

Asst: Assistants. Like masters, they do updates and put up new stuff, as well as help with events.

Updater: Have status of asst, but they only do updates, unless they are asked to do something else by masters.

Member: This probably means you. A member is someone who doesn’t do updates. As you might guess, the main part of the rpg are members.

Bio: This is where the list of your character’s stats, moves, items and money are located as well as misc. info and pictures of your character.

PL: Power level: Determines the strength of your ki based attacks. These can be found under moves.

STR: Strength: How strong your character is. Determines the strength of your normal attacks.

SPD, SPE: Speed: How fast your character is. Determines how quick you can move.

INT: Intelligence: How smart your character is. Needed for some moves and abilities.

SEN: Sensing: How good your character is at sensing other people’s power levels.

Char: Character: A character played by someone.

Saga Character: A character that the members join to fight against. Usually these are pretty strong. Example saga characters: Frieza, Radditz, Bejita, etc.

Moves: (mostly) Ki based attacks. Some are stat enhancing.

Abilities: Different races have different abilities. This is explained elsewhere

Transformations: When your character enters a transformation, his stats are multiplied by a certain amount. There are two kinds of transformations: Solo Form and basic. For a solo form, you just take the amount of stat and pl multiplication that it is stated that your character will gain. If it isn’t a solo form, like ssj2, then you multiply the pl and stat gain from the previous non-solo forms together for the full gain.
