The namek stayed there, working over Asheron for a good twenty minutes, the man flashing in and out of consciousness as the green glow worked it's magic, sealing cuts, realigning joints that were twisted beyond mortal repair, mending bones, on and on it went, for what felt like an eternity. All the while, Snow had his hand, speaking to him mentally, urging him to hold on, to fight, to live.

When at last it was finished, Asheron's eyes closed, and his muscles went limp. A quick, furtive glance to the Namek reassured the Captain of her fears. "He is only asleep Miss. He needs rest, but he will make a full recovery. It was fortunate you got here when you did, another ten seconds and we would have lost him. Feel free to stay here until he awakes, I ask only for payment for the broken door." And with that, the man disappeared back up the stairs, presumably to go to sleep.

~What the hell are you doing Snow, he's just a pawn, something to use and throw away...~ She accosted herself, releasing the hand to leave Asheron to his rest, backing against the wall and leaning against it, arms folded under her breasts in thought. ~I'm done with him, no more of that. I can't be feeling like this, it'll make me soft and weak. He's just a minion, nothing more Snow, nothing more.~

With a long wait until sunrise, and no end to the man's slumber, the changeling woman resolved to get some rest, recharging her own depleted batteries for the task that lay ahead. Hunting the remaining dragon-balls. Leaned against the wall as she was, Snow coiled her tail to support herself, closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep as she waited for Ashley to recover.

And sleep she did, and her dreams plagued her the same as those on the ship had, but now there was a name to this presence that assailed her, to this force from which she fled. And that name, was compassion. Whether it was the planet itself doing this to her, or that pain in the ass that had sneaked aboard her ship, the Changeling Snow may never know, but she did know that it was something that she could not allow herself to succumb to. Of course, she didn't realize that she already had, like her donations for children.

Asheron lay there, asleep on the table, his body unable to stay in motion any longer, but at least he was healed and his mind was able to freely wander again. Projecting out of his body his consciousness spreading out and into Snow’s sleeping mind, manifesting a body within it as he watched her dreams. She was running from her compassion… how sad. He floated down and stopped a ways ahead and to the side of her and watched, hoping he would be considered just another figment of her imagination. “Such a sensual little body, quite interesting to watch it move Snow.” He said trying to make it sound like he was just part of the dream and hoping that she wouldn’t notice it was the real him.

As she fled from that which lay within, running across the purplish grasslands of Namek, she found herself about to run past Asheron at an angle as he commented on her body, mouthing off about crap and generally seeming to entice her into attacking him. "Sorry little man, I have other plans for you." she remarked with a smirk, changing her direction and exploding straight past the boy, vanishing from his view with her speed, intent on allowing the force that chased her to consume him in it's weakness instead.

"That's right punk, stare at my body will ya. Now you get to become the soft and withering wimp instead of me." She chuckled throatily, laughing at the plight of the foolish human as she rushed along, leaving him, and, in the process, her compassion in her wake. But something wasn't right. It should have stopped and taken him by now, but instead she could still feel the overbearing presence on her tail... no matter what she did, no matter how hard she tried, it seemed as though the changeling ship's captain could not shake that which assailed her. "Come on Snow, you know you're stronger than this."

As the wave crashed over him he grew larger and stronger, dashing forward at untraceable speeds, moving as no more than a blur in her vision and coming up behind her, gently whispering next to her head he said “you know babe, this is just a dream, and as with any dream, when you know that it is one you can control it completely and do every last little thing that your carnal instinct wants, without having to worry about anyone finding out.” He said and gently faded away, severing his bodily connection, instead he watched her from a distance, no longer having a body.

Snow was taken aback by the way Asheron had transformed, stunned into freezing still and watching and listening on as he told her it was all a dream, that she could do as she wished. "Of course!" She exclaimed, face palming herself at her own stupidity. She was running from a feeling, an emotion, of course this was a dream. Closing her eyes, she gathered her personal resolve, forming a mental armor around herself, allowing the wave of compassion to wash over her, surrounding her in it's warmth as it began to swirl around the woman, probing at her armor, seeking to find a hole in her defenses. At last, it surrendered the subtle approach, instead all rising up, preparing to crush in on her in a massive influx of emotions.

In that instant, she built up the pressure within herself, and just as the force struck, she released it in a massive explosion that disintegrated everything that had been chasing her, leaving her master of her own dream, her own destiny in the dream. With at last the weakness that had assailed her crushed, Snow went on in the dream to gather all of the seven dragonballs, to conjure a massive dragon that looked just like the one on earth in her dream, and set off for icer with her crew in tow, intent on crushing her mother and all who may oppose her bid for rulership of the frozen planet.

It was then that she gasped awake, seeing the golden light of dawn creep through the windows. After the events of the dream, she saw no reason to pity the wounded man, and left him to heal on his own, headed out the door, ready to begin the search for the next dragonball. She would have her wish.

Ash sat up and floated off of the table, leaving a message behind saying that payment would come as soon as it could be paid and then he left slowly out of the room. He actually wished he hadn’t interfered in Snow’s dream. He was crushed by her resolve and more so he now knew exactly what it was that snow really wanted. Resolving to close his mind off from the rest of the world he left the building and then flew to the inn, phasing through the walls until he got to his own room and collected Snows weighted clothes with the radar and walked out in search of her. In truth, what he wanted most to do right now was to just go home.

Snow was walking into the in, a confident march to her step, not the sexy wiggle she'd grown accustomed to on earth, when she found herself face to face with Asheron, walking out of the rooms with her weighted clothing. "Glad to see your awake Ash. We've got work to do." She told him in a militant manner, genuinely grateful he'd recovered. Reaching forward, she grabbed her clothes, seeing the radar was folded up in them, and began to slide into the clothing, feeling them stretching to accommodate her swollen abdomen.

"You really had me worried last night, we can't do that again, do you understand Asheron?" She told him, glancing up after she'd finished changing, seeking his gaze. ~Guy doesn't really seem like himself, something in his eyes... I hope he's ok...~ She thought to herself, once again forgetting his mental abilities.

Ash Looked to Snow with dead eyes and looked away again, walking off through the walls, completely ignoring everyone in the world around him. He walked off out of the inn, ignoring everything he saw and then slowly floated up to the to get a good view of the false world that he was living in for this time. Everything was so alive and yet dead at the same time, nothing had its usual glow of life in his eyes, just that dull shadow of death over them as he sat there, watching the trees sway in the wind and the usual life of the town slowly come back. It was true his powers were tied to his emotions but he never expected his emotions to have this kind of effect on his life. Everything was dead in his eyes.

Sighing to herself as the stowaway floated away from her, Snow made her way out of the inn, warning the owner who had returned to the desk with the coming of the dawn that there was a rather large mess in one of the rooms that needed cleaning, and threw him the keys before at last departing. Glancing around, she soon found Asheron, floating above the village, looking... nowhere it seemed.

"Why do I bother..." She muttered to herself, refusing to admit that she was concerned about him as she too levitated towards him, angling to approach from in-front of the human so she could speak to him directly. "Asheron, something's troubling you. Tell me. I'd be a piss poor captain if I didn't take care of my men, now tell me what's troubling you. Was it me? Is it because I hurt you?"

“Why should it even matter? You have no need for compassion, you’ve made that message quite clear Captain Snow.” He said as he looked at her again and then floated off towards a location that was likely to have dragon ball according to the local people’s minds. ~My mind made as deep of a connection as it can to you, I saw your dream, I saw your decision, and now I am regretting I had ever tried to help you. My emotions are linked to my powers, any time I feel too strong of an emotion they go haywire.~ he thought in her direction. His mind had been twisted and warped by his emotions thus far and it would only get closer and closer to cracking as the issues steadily piled up.

Upon checking the dragon ball radar, Snow found that he was headed in the same direction as the next dragon ball, and decided that could travel with him. Accelerating towards him, she set a pace even with Asheron, struggling to think of the words to say. "Asheron..." She began, at a bit of a loss for words. This was one of her men, she was responsible for him, and couldn't allow him to lose himself the way he was. Even if he already knew everything in her head, she resolved to do her best. She had to try. "Asheron, there is a great deal about my past, about my home, that you don't know, and don't understand, and may never come to understand even if you did come with us."

From the look of him, it didn't seem anything was getting through, but she couldn't know until he spoke. "You are free to leave, and released of your debt to me Asheron, it's the least I can do. But please, live in peace." And with that, she gazed once more at the dragon radar, and slowly accelerated past him, giving him an opportunity to speak to her, should he choose.

Sighing he sped up again “You know, I thought you actually stood a chance at a life but obviously not. I have been learning about your race by listening to the mind of others and its quite easy to say that only those who go completely insane are the ones who stay alive into ‘old’ age. You live a paranoid life and constantly stab one another in the back until you can finally reach the top and then your people sit there and are paranoid. A compassionate person would actually be able to live because they would have the sense to separate from the rest of their people. And yet all you want is these damn balls to get more powerful to kill your mother and just go full circle by most likely getting stuck there.” He said, his face had absolutely no emotion on it. “But you would rather waste your life remaining in the vicious cycle that is your peoples heritage.”

There was a ring of truth to his words that she could not deny. But at the same time, she had to confront her mother, to put an end to this and rise to the fullness of who she was. "I said I need to confront my mother, not necessarily kill her. Will it happen? That, is more up to her than myself, but it is something I must do before I can come to complete peace. You are free to stay here, or, if you prefer, we could probably get transport for you back to earth. The choice is yours Asheroth, I can not make it for you. If you wish to see me change, I have to warn you, the odds are slim, and it would take time. Time you seem to think I don't have."

Ash reached out and took the radar, not even willing to listen to her any more. “I am going off to find the next damn ball so we can get off this planet faster. And if you hadn’t realized it yet, I do actually care for you, unlike most people my body actually allowed your touch. And unlike most others you have actually not treated me like a freak, but for some reason when I actually return the sentiment you damn near kill me, and since you did so you are cutting off all compassion… ya know what, words aren’t getting through, maybe this will.” He grabbed her by the shoulder and pulled her into an unexpected kiss and then left with the small machine in hand.

As he kept moving lower to the ground he quickly came to realize that the ball was in fact not in a town or hidden under anything, no, it was underwater, in the darkest portion that he could see. Which meant that the water went deep. Opening up a telepathic connection with Snow he sighed and set the radar on the ground ~the ball is underwater and I have no idea if I can make it all the way down, grab the ball and make it back up in time…. Sorry if I can’t get it, but I will die trying if I must…~ his mind drifted back to the night before and the few times when he wasn’t in pain. She would be a remarkable woman to stay with… but it just seemed to be something that she wanted nothing to do with.

Jumping over the edge of land he flew right over where the symbol had been and flew up as high as his body would allow. Then just as he reached as high as he could go, he did a full 180 degree flip and dove down at maximum velocity, using ki orbs to break the surface of the water as he dove in. he used his fall to shoot him as low as possible and then swam the rest of the way until finally he came to the bottom and started to look around. He knew he didn’t have long to search so he moved fast. It was a short search before he found the large dragon ball and pulled it out of the crack it was stuck in. not even bothering to inspect the thing he curled up and pushed off with all his force but he just couldn’t manage to get up through the water fast enough. He pressed with all his might against the water attempting to reach the top before he was out of breath.

Struggling against the weight of the ball he kicked with all his might to get to the surface, following the bottom of the sea towards land as far as he could go, but just a hundred feet before he got to the surface he let out the breath of air that was in his lungs, he didn’t have enough strength to make it to the top and so his body fell to the rocky bottom and once again his presence on this world began to fade. ~sorry, couldn’t make it and I couldn’t help you, bye Snow~

Snow found herself frozen in place in the air, staring in shock as he took the radar and went after the next ball, launching into a lecture of how much he cared about her, about how she hadn't treated him as a freak and that made her special to him. ~But... Asheron... I warned you what would happen, I warned you about my urges, and how I hurt people when I... we... I mean...~ She hadn't thought she could become embarrassed, but she did now, such to the point that if changelings could blush her cheeks would be glowing such a bright red they would most certainly have been putting out light.

~I never want to hurt you Asheron, I don't know another way to... do that... to give and receive pleasure... and I don't know that I'll ever learn. I'm so much different from you, such a different creature. You have to understand Ash, that you and I weren't meant to be together, it's not natural. And I will not hurt you like that again. I suppose I can return some of that sentiment you've given me, but not physical. I refuse to hurt you Asheron, I'm responsible for your well being. You can stay with me as long as you like, but unless and until I learn to control myself, our.... situation... can not be physical.~ As hard as she told herself she was manipulating him, that he was her puppet and she was just pulling her strings, she could tell that it wasn't true, there was depth, sincerity in her thoughts.

As he responded with his death note, probably not having been listening to her during her rant, she hit the gas, her speed rising as she pursued him at high speed, angling down towards the water where he'd just splashed. In a moment, her smooth, aerodynamic form had plunged effortlessly into the water, as she swam down, deeper and deeper at the angle she'd entered, until she realized that Asheron was above her, swimming with the ball towards the sunlight above. ~No. I refuse to say goodbye. Your a good man Asheron, and if you'll accept it, a valuable member of the crew.~ She called to him, leaping off the lake-bed as she began to both 'fly' and swim towards him, kicking her legs and swishing her tail back and forth like a crocodile, swiftly building speed great enough to match Asheron's own were he in the air, before she zoomed past the floating figure, one arm wrapping securely around his waist, the other holding the dragon-ball securely to his body.

In an instant, the pair exploded out of the water, as Snow flew to the nearest patch of the purplish grass, laying him down on his stomach and immediately began compressing his abdomen. "Isn't this a switch" she muttered under her breath as the first five compressions were completed, bending down to give him a breath, properly plugging his nose and lifting his chin, before resuming the compressions, and muttering again. "If I'd stayed among my people I never would have learned how to do this." At the count of five she again gave him the breath of life, returning to the compressions. "Come on Asheron, don't you die on me. Nobody dies under my command outside of combat. You got that. Nobody!" Finally, after yet five more compressions, she bent down, blowing the breath of life into him again, and adding something else. She poured herself into that kiss, a portion of her spirit, a bit of her essence, hell if she knew exactly what it was, although looking back, the emotional experience was not unlike that of a kiss. ~Dammit wake up Ashley. If you die on me I swear I'll kill you.~

Funny, but then, that's how it seems most women get when something important to them is at risk. Emotionally irrational.
