Never being one for the general act of intelligent thought, Akuma rushed straight out to strike Hachi but froze in mid step and fell in a heap. His body too needed to adapt but he was so focused on getting the first strike in that he had completely ignored even entertaining the idea that the gravity could quite easily stop him in his tracks. Lifting himself off the ground just barely he managed to take a fighting stance with his bone sword slowly weighing more and more in his hands.

The daemon leader Hachi watched Akuma’s blind attack, though he couldn’t say he was without enthusiasm for battle. With the new recruit in a more defensive stance and apparently ready to fight, the daemon figured he would take the first strike. To test the waters, Hachi closed the distance and attempted to throw a flurry of punches, gradually getting faster, wanting to see what the opponent could do and how fast they really were.

Should the sword be an issue, Hachi was fully prepared to use his other arm to block, feeling it a better alternative to taking the shot in the chest.

Rapidly moving to block the shots as best he could, Akuma was attempting to focus his mind on the task at hand, curling the blade up and over one of the punches he brought the tip forward, aiming for the throat. He knew that the man would most likely grab the sword or shift it but all he would need was the split second of time as offence became defense. In that moment he would be able to turn the tables and catch this other demon off guard with a Ki blast to the face… that is if he could actually pull it off, or even get a good attack in otherwise.

Akuma had little problem with the starting few punches, and felt on par enough to take a jab to the daemon’s throat. Rather than grab and pull the sword out of its path, Hachi slammed the back of his fist into the side of the blade, leaving it to miss its target completely. As soon as the daemon Hachi averted the blade, Akuma launched an energy blast, though the blast was sound, the difference in power was too great.

With the blast colliding, and essentially doing nothing, but allowed Hachi a moment to show the new recruit a unique tactic he tended to use against opponents without hurting them. With a swift blast, Hachi aimed and used his freezing energy attack aimed for the dominant arm.

Rather wishing he had taken the time to practice his arts in Fire, Akuma quickly found himself staring at his now frozen arm, completely unable to move it and knowing that shattering the ice could very well shatter his arm. Looking at his opponent he sighed and lowered his head “I admit defeat, you’ve bested me, I have no choice but to surrender with no arm to attack with.” He said, wishing he hadn’t tried the blast in the first place, it was obvious this Hachi person was way more powerful than he but he figured that maybe, just maybe, he could pull off this strike properly he may just be able to tip the scales by pushing the demon off balance. Obviously he was quite wrong.
