Life Story
Bruce’s father, a warrior from Konat came to Earth in search of the Dragonballs, which he had heard about in legends told on his planet. However, upon coming to Earth, he found it to be very different from what he expected. Earth had many less customs of honor and tradition that he had come to know and be raised with back on his home planet. Much more so than a culture shock, Bruce’s father found it next to impossible to begin to locate any of the Dragonballs. He abandoned his quest, and was planning on returning back to his home planet Konat, when the eve before he would depart, he met a young woman who he formed a quick relation with. The two of them held a lot of values in common, and his father felt that it would be foolish for him to throw this away. Deciding to stay on Earth, Bruce’s father ended up marrying the woman, Bruce’s mother, and shortly after, the two of them had a son, who they named Bruce. They used her last name, because his Konat name was too out of place on Earth. Their family was happy, until they were found by an anti alien extremist group, who attacked their house one night. Even though Bruce’s father was a skilled warrior, his years of inactivity had made him lose his skill and coordination, and he ended up dying to protect his wife and five year old son, who barely escaped.

They moved to another city with the money they had in the bank, and started over. They lived in a cheap house, barely making the payments, however, they got by with what they had, and they were happy together. But, one day, Bruce’s mom was hit by a drunk driver when she was walking home from work, leaving Bruce an orphan at the age of ten. Their house was repossessed, as they had barely been scraping by, leaving Bruce with no possessions in his name.

Bruce was taken to an orphanage, where he was picked on and mocked because of his scrawny size, which made him an easy target for bullies. The living conditions were bearable, but not comfortable. As such, Bruce thought up a plan to run away as soon as he could, and left the orphanage one night when he was fifteen.

Bruce lived on the streets, where he had to learn to fight and toughen up to survive being attacked by lots of gangs. He stole food and water from convenience stores, sleeping in back alleys, or squatting in vacant houses if they could be found.

Bruce carried on this lifestyle until he was twenty two, when he got himself his first real job, working as a janitor at a gym and dojo. He earned some extra pocket money, and was given free access to the gym’s facilities, and their combat classes. Bruce learned a variety of martial arts at the gym, and also worked out frequently to bulk up his size.

Now, Bruce is an accomplished street fighter, taking on his street fighting name of Dragon after having heard an urban legend told about him. This legend claimed that Bruce had learned to fight from dragons themselves. However, there is no truth to this legend. Although Bruce is an inhumanly good fighter, this is due to his father’s Konat genes, which have helped him learn to control ki energy in combat.
